About Lisa

I was instinctively drawn to Lomilomi Massage and feel passionate about its healing potential. I very much enjoy giving this beautiful body work.

Reflexology, supporting emotional and physical health through the feet, has been an interest of mine for many years.  I would buy books from the charity shop’s and practice on myself and family. To complete the training, which included treating 100 pairs of feet!, was an important journey for me through a transformational time in my life.

I have worn a number of ‘working hats’ since age 15, when I began weekend work as a care assistant to the elderly.

My work experience includes being a volunteer for Citizens Advice, Body Positive, Newham Drugs Team, and Drugs and the Law telephone support. In my early 20s, I worked as a TEFL teacher in Prague, then used the skills gained to teach drugs education and sexual health to London school children. Before having children, I was a Team Leader, Senior Social Worker and Supervisor for Newham Substance Misuse Team. I have a BA honours in Sociology and Social Policy and a Masters in Social Work.

With a lifelong interest in psychology, I have 4 years training in counselling;  the Somatic Coaching certificate from the London Somatic School; polyvagal training with Deb Dana; brief therapies including Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing for Health Changes and the Level 2 in Understanding Autism.

I experience body work as a means for offering nourishment, support and care to others. I also receive touch therapies as I understand implicitly how essential this is for more balanced emotional and physical health.

I feel especially lucky that my work requires a relaxed state of mind and offers quietening, meditative flow as an essential aspect of what I do.
